SHARON HELDT

Sharon began her acting career on stage in Canadian theatre.  For over 34 years, she has established a diverse career in theatre, music theatre, classical theatre, film,  television  and commercials.  Sharon has been fortunate to have performed in theatres across Canada;  most notably two seasons with the Stratford Festival and the NYMTF

( New York Musical Theatre Festival) 47th St. Theatre NYC.


Selected credits include:  Upper Canada Playhouse/Theatre Orangeville/ Orillia Opera House & Bluewater Festival's production of Norm Foster's (The Ladies Foursome).  Banff's Advanced Actors’ Workshop (Twelfth Night),  Unplugged Productions (Macbeth), Blyth Festival (Ginkgo Tree& Thirteenth One) , Tarragon Theatre/ Grand Theatre/ NAC  (Pal Joey),  Theatre Aquarius (Real Estate & The Long Weekend),  MTC (Emerald City), Tarragon Theatre  (Catering Queen), Factory Theatre (Flush), 47th Street Theatre (Top Gun, The Musical!)


As a teacher, with over 20 years experience, Sharon holds teaching credits with numerous leading arts organizations, most notably  Theatre Aquarius Senior Program,  Young People’s Theatre (YPT),  Etobicoke School of the Arts (ESA), Cawthra School of the Arts.  Sharon also privately coaches many up and coming young actors making  their way to arts high schools, university level drama programs and film & television auditions in Toronto.


In 2005, with great pride and gratitude to the Roncesvalles community, Sharon established Acting Out Kids Theatre. The children's company was inspired by her two daughters, who also received invaluable theatre training under Lou Zamprogna's  TA Summer Programs.  Located in the Roncesvalles United Church, Sharon is the Artistic Director of this thriving children theatre company, teaching young and mature students alike. 


This May/June, Sharon will again be teeing up to perform her original role of 'Margot ' in Norm Foster's play, The Ladies Foursome in both Lighthouse Festival Theatre and Showboat Festival Theatre.


Sharon couldn't be more happy to be teaching the talented youth of Hamilton, as the Zamprogna family continues to strive for excellence in performance training.
